EBOOK ONLY 1 WEEK AWAY!

Only one week to go until OFF TARGET launches into the big wide world in ebook!
And it is already available on all digital platforms for preorder now.

My latest speculative thriller is set in a near-future world where parents are prepared to take immeasurable risks to ensure their long-desired babies are perfect, altering genes that may cause illness, and more...

I have been lucky enough to receive some wonderful reviews from early readers:

"Provocative, pacy & scarily all-too-possible...
a captivating, thought- provoking thriller.”
Philippa East, author of Little White Lies

"… a brilliantly chilling work of speculative fiction - a disturbing but all-too-possible vision of the
near future, where each of us gets to play God."
Guy Morpuss, author of Five Minds

Now, I appreciate that, for many of us, the real world is feeling more like a dystopian novel every day. And, as with all good speculative fiction, I have to warn you that facts do inform my latest thriller just as they did The Waiting Rooms.

As I touched on in my last post, the book was inspired by research into how genetic screening and editing may revolutionise the way we have children.
That research prompted a number of what-ifs, which really drove the plot for the book:

How far might an aspiring parent be prepared to go, morally and medically, to conceive?

What sacrifices might they be prepared to make, and what rules to break, to have their own healthy, biological child?

My main character, Susan, has been trying to get pregnant for years, and after an impulsive night out makes her dream come true, she finds herself catapulted into a terrible dilemma.
She makes a fateful decision: one that will have deadly repercussions not only for herself, but for her entire family.

So, if you fancy a chilling thriller to distract you over your Christmas break, with a refreshingly fictional set of dilemmas, then the ebook is out on all digital platforms next Friday December 17th and the paperback and audiobook are out in February.
You can preorder here.

If you fancy delving into the facts behind the book, then you can find out more here.

In the meantime, I wish you and your families a happy and healthy Christmas.
Let’s hope that life in 2022 moves into merrier genres: a little romance, comedy or cosy mystery, perhaps? And that dystopia is relegated to the fictional realm.
We can but hope...

Merry Christmas!
